On Monday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 17, I’m attending the 8th Annual Public Relations & Communications Summit for Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Medical Technology Communicators presented by EXL Pharma in Morristown, NJ.
My current role at Olympus Medical is specific to emarketing strategy and analytics, but I do support (and previously reported to) our Director of PR. Within our Digital Strategy group, I have to be thinking beyond marketing into all areas of communications, including both internally and externally.
Of course all thoughts, comments, and posts made on this blog are my own and don’t necessarily reflect those of my employer. My hope is to share some key takeaways with those who weren’t here or who were and may have missed some as a result of the large number of sessions, all for the purpose of improving healthcare communications in general.
Day 1 features three breakouts in the afternoon, the morning keynote by Jeffrey Winton, VP and Head of Global Communications, Eli Lilly and Company, and FDA presentations by Paul Buckman, Director of Online Communications and Gregory Busse, Senior Writer/Editor, Team Leader for DSC.
I’ll probably use Twitter a little bit throughout the day, but I find live tweeting tends to distract from more solid note taking, so we’ll see how the day goes. Opening remarks kick off in 30 minutes.
